Musing about Giannis and the Raptors is a tradition, but now that the Bucks star seems likely to move, here's the catch: "It would have to be Scottie and picks, in my opinion" -- www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/...

Raps host Pistons Wednesday. Detroit will be without Stewart and likely Duren after skirmish vs. Charlotte.
Between the info below and the fact he ran in off the bench to escalate, this is why league is gonna hammer Stewart the worst of anyone in the fight.
Coming into tonight, Isaiah Stewart has 47 career technical fouls, 12 career flagrant fouls & 8 total games missed to suspension.

No one believes in Scottie Barnes more than his head coach. DPOY? Finals MVP? MVP? Rajakovic is sure it’s all on the table. During Sunday’s 3rd quarter Barnes showed why he might be on to something: www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/...
Barnes delivers decisive takeover in Raptors' win over Pacers
On an afternoon that the Raptors were moving a little gingerly, Scottie Barnes was a human dose of energy drink against the Pacers.

Trayce-Jackson Davis is the fifth player to record a double-double in a Raptors debut, first since Kawhi Leonard in 2018.

He's the first to do it off the bench.

Jakob Poeltl went live at practice & will be questionable vs. Pacers Sunday. Has missed 26 games (when including the six minutes he played vs. Nets on Dec. 21) with a wonky back.
Also, Immanuel Quickley tweaked ankle Sunday and will be listed as questionable, but feeling is it's a 'mild' sprain.

Trayce Jackson Davis is internet famous for dunking on Wemby; the clip circulated again after trade to Raptors went through and it came up at his first practice in Toronto:

“I’m from the Midwest, I’m used to the cold,” — Trayce Jackson-Davis saying the right things on 1st day as a Raptor. Very personable dude. Eager for an opportunity, feels like his experiences playing alongside Steph, Draymond, Klay and Chris Paul (as rookie) have been formative.

Since I wrote this, Flagg is averaging 33.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists + 2.2 stocks per game on .602 true shooting with eight turnovers in 187 minutes.

Kid's pretty good!
At Y! Sports: Ahead of this weekend's prime-time Lakers-Mavs tilt, I wrote about Cooper Flagg, growing up at warp speed, getting himself on some pretty cool friggin' lists, and giving Dallas something to hold onto as it navigates life after Luka: yhoo.it/3NNmeXz
Cooper Flagg's impressive rookie season has put him in elite company — and given Mavs fans hope again
One of the most highly touted prospects in a generation is growing up a lot faster than it would’ve seemed reasonable to expect.

Since turning 19 on Dec. 21, Cooper Flagg is averaging 22p/7r/5a/1s w eFG of 53% .... only other guys doing that or better for the season as a whole are Joker, Luka and Jalen Johnson. Cray.

Raps-Bulls as men's league trap game: Bulls rolling with like eight guys playing fast & free. May not know names but know they can get up all the shots. Raptors coming off bad loss and on B2B, maybe a little post deadline let down. Could be on their back foot. That's my best Bill Simmons analysis
