FIFA’s peace prize scam pays off
The Supreme Court sets aside lower court decisions upholding convictions for bribery related to the FIFA scandal because the Trump administration decided to dismiss those criminal cases "in the interests of justice." The FIFA prosecution ends in a whimper. www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...

In app web browsers too: FB (not sure about X) uses a custom browser in their app when you open a link that lets them inject any code they want onto the page. What are they doing with it? Don’t know. But I’d be amazed if they’re doing nothing.
One of the things must folks don't appreciate is that platforms like X and FB & Tiktok have pixel trackers embedded everywhere around the web. They gather your preferences based on what other sites share about you with them. Sites do this to get better ad targeting. BSky doesn't have that.
I genuinely miss the more algorithmic social media feeds, they help connect with fandoms and find new people to follow

I've been on a nine sols/hollow knight/silksong arc for months, and bsky hasn't picked up on it at all

meanwhile, twitter immediately did (...without even posting about it there)

we put on the Paw Patrol Christmas special for our youngest yesterday (the season's not over until we get around to taking down the tree!)

they attempt a "true meaning of Christmas" plot but it's tricky.

We need to stop saying “AI is coming for our jobs”

AI doesn’t have a vendetta against the middle class. It’s not sentient, it can’t choose to harm us. It’s a tool for those who can. We need to identify the right party at fault.

It blows my mind that any of these people are able to trade individual stocks. Park your money in a blind trust or an index fund. If you want to play Wolf of Wall Street, find another job.
NEW: Four days before oral arguments, Justice Sam "stock trader" Alito decides he "will not continue to participate" in a case involving oil companies.

This means that he did participate in certiorari stage proceedings, despite owning relevant stocks.
