Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Suburban observers say ICE has only been more aggressive since Homan: “I think they’re getting angry that we’re winning and the country is rallying around us. We’re so organized and we act with such integrity. They don’t want to admit they feel threatened by us.”

For further context, even at 2000+, that’s nearly double combine police force of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The @startribune.com made this article/ visual graphic on 1/13, use this gift link to understand the scope of what 2000 agents means. www.startribune.com/how-ice-numb...

They’re taking 700 out and leaving 2000 here, which is what they started with.

And if you’ll recall, that 2000 number was unprecedented as the largest “immigration” operation ever undertaken.

So we’re very much still in historic occupation territory, folks. Don’t let your guard down.
Homan says that 2,000+ DHS immigration enforcement agents will be left in Minnesota even after the drawdown he announced this morning

Remember her name: Aliya Rahman

Her testimony is everything and it deserves to be heard, by everyone. Decide for yourself.

It’s powerful. It’s gut-wrenching. And no one should have to survive what she did.

ICE MUST GO‼️

I am glad a viewer asked how the reporters are doing mentally, and how they take care of themselves. And the answer they gave is that it’s hard and different for each. They support one another, and recognize that it’s the job.

I know it isn’t much, but thank you to ALL reporters & @startribune.com

I wrote Michael Fiddelke a long email today too. I don’t expect it to be read or responded too, but I also shared it to another trusted friend who works there. I remain hopeful that Target will be the first big company here to stand open and stem the tide.

I don't like to talk about stories before they are fully reported, but I am writing on ICE in a Minnesota town that isn't Minneapolis. However bad you think it is, it is worse. It is a campaign of pure terror whose only strategic goal is more terror. There is no strategy other than to break people.
