I didn't know Mamdani's wife was a comics nerd! New York, you have to vote for him now because I need at least one person in comics to have good health insurance.

In my timeline I’m seeing that @rachelgilmore.bsky.social is getting death threats, and @karenattiah.bsky.social has been fired from the Washington Post, both for measured and reasonable writings about last week’s violence. Egregious and appalling.

The radio was playing at my 85 yo Dad’s place earlier and his ears perked up and he said “I love this song!” He didn’t know the name or the artist. I pulled out Shazam since I didn’t recognize it either. Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan.

So sad to hear about Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Just this weekend was enjoying his performance in Sneaky Pete on Netflix. Gone too soon.

My now nineteen year old son drew me this Superman when he was five. It's one of my favourite pieces of art.

As I downsize for the next chapter of my life, my apartment is approaching an almost nostalgic level of minimalism. Mattress on the floor and folding card table for meals. Part time digital nomad life is in my sights.

Nice! It looks like the Kanopy app now streams at least at 1080p on AppleTV. Makes the viewing experience so much more pleasant.

Montreal, are you okay? Reddit is replete with posts about stolen/missing pad thai and somehow both the Concordia Library and Communauto are involved. Whaaa? www.reddit.com/r/montreal/

Ah, Facebook marketplace, where you can have interactions where someone messages at 12:30pm to say they’ll know soon if they can make it before noon that same day but that it looks good.

A perfect start to Friday. Fantastic new album by Little Simz. Loving 'Lotus' so far. Find it on your favourite streaming service and give it a listen.

File under: I never thought it would be an issue until I tried. Adobe Illustrator has no trouble exporting a PDF with layers intact, but importing the same PDF reduces everything to one layer. Affinity Publisher roundtrips the file just fine.

Would love to know what’s happening in Lightroom on iPad: importing compressed Fuji raw files from a SD card reader and there are no previews, but those same files from the directly connected camera show previews. Is the camera doing something here?

I don't doom scroll, but I follow so many interesting accounts on social media that time can slip away quickly while browsing... there's so much good stuff, but probably too much to process during any given session. Not sure what the solution is!

Sad to hear about the passing of Jackson “Butch” Guice. One of my favourite comic book artists when I was a kiddo. Between him and Michael Golden, I’ll always have fond memories of The Micronauts. (I didn’t connect with Gil Kane at the time!)

Thanks C.J. Looking forward to having a move leisurely read of the book once it’s printed!
We have COVER ART!! So thrilled with this beautiful work by @michelvrana.com. THE DROWNED MAN'S DAUGHTER: a heartwarming tale with almost no cannibalism, coming from @newestpress.bsky.social in Sept. 2025. #booksky
