An ancient and magical amber bear. Carved some 10,000 years ago, it washed up on a beach at Fanø in Denmark from a submerged Mesolithic settlement under the North Sea.

So on Fridays our friend AJ Link would open a mutual aid thread to anyone that was in need. Since he had good reach, it really helped a lot of people, especially so many marginalized folk. He literally saved lives.

A shield volcano SE of Myvatn in Iceland. Possibly it is Ketildyngja, which was involved in the 1st of 3 major phases of post ice-age volcanism in the Myvatn region from c. 3000 years ago..possibly not

Lessons from PTA -

- he took only Pynchon bits that interested him, wrote around it

- he stole the structure of Les Mis - breakneck first act, settle into story 2nd act, third act reckon w choices

- he tried hard to write out cell phones, they’re the enemy of drama

George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.

This painting was inspired by a hike in “the burn forest” - a part of the Columbia River Gorge charred and singed by forest fires of the past. It is both eerie and beautiful. Blackened sentinels and green new growth side by side. A reminder of the circle of and brevity of life.
