SEN. @gallego.senate.gov on the terrible Milei rock concert: “Millions of Americans are about to lose their health care and have their insurance premiums double, but Trump & Republicans are giving this idiot $20 BILLION. Good job. Way to make America First, guys.”

Every year at #NYCC there’s one cosplayer that takes the cake, the cookies AND the pie. It’s only Friday but I think I found the one.

“Concerns over an AI bubble bursting have grown lately, with analysts recently finding that it’s 17 times the size of the dotcom-era bubble and four times bigger than the 2008 financial crisis.”

Hang onto your butts. This “correction” is gonna hurt.

they're coming through wardrobes, folks, and they're coming over through portals on train platforms and schoolyard walls, and by using rings of various colors, and they're saying "oh bother" and "by Jove" and they're taking over narnia folks and eating all the turkish delight, they eat the delight

that johnson is more terrified of seating a duly elected democrat who could force an epstein vote than having the entire government shut down really makes me wonder about that epstein vote tbh

One of my favorite buildings here in Cleveland. The Hart Building is only 9 feet wide!

Originally the HQ of a furniture maker, built in 1868. Its facade is cast iron. Later the HQ of a biz that made scales, engines, pumps, and windmills. It's now apartments! Noisy club district though.

Also, as a D&D player, this comparison is unfair to orcs.

Counterpoint:

You absolutely do not have to hand it to enslavers
Wilson: Now, one of the things I want to do is say: I’m really glad that slavery’s gone, and good riddance. And I want to say that the Southern slave owner, who read the books of Ephesians and Colossians and 1 Timothy and treated his slaves decently, remembering that he had a master in heaven who he studiously tried to obey — what Paul said slave owners were supposed to do — I would say he was not an orc, and he is part of the reason why slavery ended. In other words, I would say he’s a good guy.

I fear that even if we do restore democracy and the rule of law, whoever's in charge isn't going to understand that you can't go back to the way things were. The status quo is broken beyond repair. We have to build something new and better.

They know they won't be in power forever. So, they're breaking as much as they can right now, in the hope that whoever follows them won't be able to put it all back together.

NEW: @CDCgov hit hard by massive firings that several staff describe to me as a “bloodbath.”
Among those RIFd:
—leadership of the center for immunization and respiratory diseases;
—leadership of global health center
—leadership of the measles outbreak response; 1/4

They could have had like 30 separate articles of impeachment by that point. Realy hit the hammer home. This guy commits *a lot* of crimes.
mikevago.bsky.social
Yeah, I honestly despite "everything is the Democrats' fault" posting, but they 100% dropped the ball.

I understand the logic behind, "let's just impeach him for the thing we think we can get him on", but they really should have impeached him for *everything* that first time.

None of this would have happened if anyone had even considered trying to enforce the Emoluments Clause in his first term.

He gave US assets in exchange for riches for himself personally!

That’s absolutely textbook unambiguous slam dunk corruption we have never really seen before in a President.

This alone should get him impeached and subsequently prosecuted and it’s barely even a story
