Hi! I'm Scott, board game designer, and publisher as Minerva Tabletop Games.

I focus on small-box and microgames; games that offer simple rules with surprising depth, and do a lot with few components. I have a background in art and design and favour distinctive art styles.

Ayup, I'm Paul. Still consider myself pretty new to all this (I'm old, and I started late) but I love what I've learned to do. Feels a bit like sorcery :)

While I love my niche stupid hobby of historical board gaming, sometimes it does just make me want to scream. Take the latest example, a board game about the Irish Potato Famine where you get to compete with friends to see who survives best (?)

The Great Hunger
Easy-to-learn, card-driven game, rich with historical detail; explores 19th-century Irish expansion, blight, famine, & emigration. 2-5P

we already have this, it is called the board game industry
I task you with creating a game where there is no money anywhere.

The last few months of 2025 were pretty quiet gaming-wise so hopefully January will make up for it!

This week has been good, I’ve already had a games night with my best friend, a playtesting session, and I’m hoping to play a solo game of my new Dorfromantik: Light Luggage too!

Solo board gamers, I need game recommendations!

I have a few days in the hospital coming up (I’m fine, don’t worry πŸ™‚) and I’m looking for some really good solo games that I can play on the little rolling table for hospital beds.

Any suggestions for something reasonably small but solid?

Despite not painting any minis in the second half of the year, I finished some pretty cool minis for the Fallout miniature games. Lucy and The Ghoul from the TV show were a highlight!

My photography got a serious upgrade thanks to the backdrops from @handiworkgames.bsky.social.

Playtesting successes in 2025!

Last year we had a total of NINE games published that had been designed by our South London playtest group or playtested at Playfest London 🀯

Congratulations to everyone involved! Which games have you played/are looking forward to?
