kim having a place to feel safe expressing any type of outward anything without his job or reputation being in danger is a great read. but it's funny to me too, because it's also like...yeah, of course harry should be offering that, anything less and he would be elysium's biggest hypocrite

which is great for keeping your mind on work, terrible for long-term personal emotional growth. of the kimharry stuff, i prefer the stories where they both have influence on how the other is changing- harry gets less dramatic, kim gets less detached. also they kiss each other with tongue

one of the reasons I'll never write a one-sided "Kim makes Harry's life better" type fic is that I've HAD friends like Kim Kitsuragi and jesus christ, after a few years you're BEGGING them to show any kind of opinion or reaction to any of the terrible shit that's happening around you

it helps me to remind myself that community exists. i think about the people in my life who I trust. i research local places i could go and i start very small, not "change the world" stuff but "know the world" stuff- queer social clubs or book clubs, local games night, etc. ways to connect!

the thing is, fascism builds momentum using targetted misinformation. its strategy is to constantly say egregiously incorrect and redundant things, then watch us mentally unravel arguing that up is up and down is down when the damage is already done- constantly pushing us into a defensive position

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.
