Do you like books? There's a lot of contenders for a Goodreads replacement; I like Hardcover. Simple, clean, and does exactly what I want it to. But I need friends! Follow me there?

I'm choosing to believe the cute girl on the train was checking me out. That's my right.

The Boox Palma 2 has a mode where they put random inspirational quotes on the lock screen, which are often a little strange, but in my case occasionally make it seem like Chinatsu is saying something incredibly hard.

I'm a DaVinci guy these days, but had to open Premiere for something; wow, Black Magic has really lapped Adobe in performance lately.

Went to read a videogame review, and I'm already annoyed. This isn't a yes or no question!!

Pet a pig today, and met two Australians who played American football in America, who told me "Bear down." It's the wild west out here in Tokyo.

The photograph of mine that's made me the most money (not counting gigs), been downloaded and seen the most, is by far this one. It frequently gets sold as stock as data centers, technology, etc.

It's a photo I took on my phone of an elevator shaft.

On Ben Lerner, and what happens when you call attention to a piece of art as art rather than obfuscating it?
November 27, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Ben Lerner fucking did it again, wow.

I really try to give it a fair shake, but every day at work by about 3 or 4p, I think, yeah, I'm ready to go home. There's just no point working beyond that.

After publishing this article, I've heard from many that CR seems to be using AI to produce dub CCs. Now, thanks to a slip-up CR had with episode 6 dub of The Banished Court Magician, we can say that with 100% certainty: Crunchyroll is using the AI service Ollang.com for its dub closed captions!

It's crazy the business side of AI is basically identical to a group of friends venmoing each other the same $20 back and forth, except it's $1B.

if you think this can cure all cancers and you're not pushing budget to that, your focus is maximizing profit you could theoretically earn..from people who have cancer. but you think it has a maybe 2% chance. not worth diverting expenditures. ok so just don't pretend to care about cancer patients 😀

James is such a thoughtful writer. I too am constantly grateful for the ability to run, to move—and know it's not forever.
"What makes this feel good is that I don’t know where this goes."

I agree with this and so...

Why not Imperator Battaglia
converging on a worldview that is like Deflated Pynchonism: not only is there a big plot to keep and hoard power, there're a million of them, and the people executing them are not that smart

I'm all in on e-readers, but they have to make something that looks cooler to use. The vibe of any paperback is a million times better.

I think about this all the time: "in fact the method didn't work since I was a deeply lonely person."
