There’s no single “best thing” about volunteering in Ukraine. But some are: it’s the right thing to do, repair and reconstruction projects need extra hands, you meet and work with Ukrainians and international volunteers, you experience the culture, hospitality and profound strength of Ukrainians.

it still confounds me that the evidence of externalising risk to other drivers (and pedestrians and cyclists) to improve your relative risk has been around for a long while, yet wilfully ignored.

Russian-Ukrainian share only 60% lexical similarity - the same as English-German. For comparison: French-Spanish is 75%, Ukrainian-Belarusian is 84%, and Ukrainian-Polish is 70%. So, claiming Russian-Ukrainian are ‘the same’ is like saying English speakers MUST understand and speak German fluently🤷♀️
