NEW - UPDATE POST

Did the CPS make a fundamental mistake with the charging decision in the Chinese spying case?

How the CPS may have asked the wrong legal question and so made a wrong charging decision

By me

Since I found out the Faithfuls have some say in this I’ve known mine would be me stuffing a hotel lamp and a bunch of room service crockery into my bag
What would your ‘brooding cutaway’ be on The Traitors? I think I’d like to be mournfully playing The Sims (by candlelight) #celebritytraitors

Oooh.

If this is correct then the CPS may have made the original charging decision *on the basis of the wrong law completely*

If so, that would explain why the evidential test was “met” and then not met when the correct law was applied.

May write further on this, if correct.
Hi David, the guardian politics live blog suggests that the second witness statement was incorrectly dated 2024 and was actually from February 2025, does that alter any of your conclusions if true?
No probs and thanks! I wouldn’t know the legal difference one way or the other, but it’s fascinating to follow.
Ok? So yes, I am sure my statement is correct. If there’s a marked difference in letter or statement in this instance that’s a matter for the guardian’s senior political correspondent.
I could find it for you in the blog if you like, but here it is in the guardians explainer on the witness statements
Guardian explainer on witness statements Second witness statement having the wrong timestamp and actually dating to February 2025
I don’t where he gets the info from, but this is via Peter Walker at the guardian - www.theguardian.com/world/2025/o...

The feeling when you go to draw up a draft Christmas present list to be reminded that you no longer need to put your brother on it.
When I see Tron: Ares I read Tori Amos, there, I said it.
I tried to stan for Jay Kelly (ooh-oooh)
But the film looked so bad (mmm-mmm)
It’s beautiful and the staff/docents are so enthusiastic, passionate and informative.
Does that mean Danger does not count, even though she had a previous evil incarnation around the time of Operation: Zero Tolerance, as a doppelgänger of Xavier?
The all-ighty ollar?

I need you to understand what this country feels like right now for those of us who look different. I'm sitting here, trying to plan for Saturday, make sure I don't even need to go to the corner shop for milk, like it's Christmas Day or lockdown. Why? Because I live near where Yaxley-Lennon will 1/
Now I did see this and I couldn’t immediately see if it it was a lady or a gentleman that left the note… but I suppose if it’s just for eye candy it doesn’t matter.

Graham Linehan has argued for years that "trans activists" are the establishment that he is fighting against, yet, when he incites violence against trans people, the whole UK establishment - the prime minister, health secretary, Met police chief and the entire Uk Press - mobilise to defend him.
