Revising my résumé today, because I haven't been getting many interview offers from all of my applications.

If you know of any openings, I'd love to hear about them!

I'm in the Greater Boston area of MA, looking to coach and/or provide PD and/or write math curriculum. Or adjacent.

Schools are discovering it's nearly impossible to get edtech vendors to delete student data after contracts end. One administrator waited months for confirmation, missed her state's deadline, and now faces personal liability for data she can't control.

Breaking Up With Edtech Is Hard to Do - EdSurge News
Shedding old edtech is a real pain, district experts say. Worse, student privacy may be at risk.

know how money works, inflation works, or, historically, how much money people make. It's really rather laughable.

This is the problem with people. The entire sum of human knowledge is at their fingertips, and they'd rather just... remain ignorant.

Educate yourself.🧵

In summation:

Your entire point is completely off the mark because you don't ⤵️

you either need universal basic income for humans or you must limit the use of Gen AI in such a way that humans aren’t radically impoverished as a result.

you cannot have both, both for morality reasons and also because this is the kind of thing that can result in globally-nightmarish conflict.
This seems more like an argument for universal basic income than for limiting technology. (I think both are probably futile in the current political environment, but I’d prefer the latter.)

I tend to agree with this. If AI works like its cheerleaders claim/hope it will - replacing whole swathes of human labour - then they need a real economic plan for dealing with the consequences of that. This can only mean heavily redistributing the profits.

Thoughts from #ATMNE25: When looking at school culture, consider, "How are adults talking about kids? How are admin talking about teachers?" Need to be viewing both with a mindset of growth, opportunity, not deficit. @marriamath.bsky.social
