I deeply believe that many of our current problems branch off from ignoring the trauma the pandemic has done to us.
Funny what happens when a society tries to memory hole a pandemic and everyone gets burnout, instead of treating it as a mass trauma event.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

When I was in college, my grandma had a stroke the night before Thanksgiving. My one older cousin and I were left alone at her house while everyone scrambled into crisis mode, and we tried to make the turkey - and ruined it.
