For some reason, a lot of new folks’ve showed up, so here’s a bit about me: I’m odd.
201. Holy frijoles. That explains quite a bit.
Ppl who read about a Autistic trait often don’t have *context* & ask:

“that sounds like something everyone does, doesn’t that mean everyone’s Autistic?”

1st, having a *single* Autistic trait doesn’t mean a person is Autistic.

2nd, we recommend you take the RAADS-R test if want larger context.
RAADS–R | Embrace Autism
The RAADS–R is a questionnaire designed to assist clinicians with the diagnosis of autistic adults who often “escape diagnosis” due to a subclinical level presentation.

Bluesky’s moderation is so notoriously shitty that there’s an entire scam built around it.

We must live for the future of music
(Sun Ra)
The new LP by Raat, White Fire, has dropped and it is gorgeous. One of my favorite artists I found during my recent deep dive into India’s black metal scene. #blackmetalsky

There’s no protest near me, so I’m just going to wear my White Panther Party tee while I’m out’n’about to piss off random Alabamians.
One guy sings that he’s the walrus and everyone else wants to get in on the act.

Yes, it does look like the government accounts joining Bluesky are real, including Homeland Security and the White House. They're tweeting about it on X.
Ooooh, big big big fan of Blood Ceremony. Thought I was the only one! (Side note: Faetooth. If you haven’t heard them yet, do so. I just got turned onto them when their new album dropped a few weeks ago or so.)

They’re not that great. They’re interesting as alternate takes, but I’ve never gone back to them.
Damn, his science is too tight!

This is often my answer in polls but a huge release in my limited little musical circle in 1991 & I feel it’s been quietly very influential ever since. Coil - Love’s Secret Domain
I had conflicts with the YR in the LATE 80s, and they were racist as fuck back then too. This was at U of Alabama, so I expected it from them, though.

[Virginia Leith, born 100 years ago today, portrayed "The Girl" in Kubrick's first feature, FEAR AND DESIRE (1953), and achieved cinematic immortality as Jan "In The Pan" Compton in THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE (1962).]
The Standells are guesting on THE MUNSTERS and for a brief moment all feels right in the world.
The closest comparison is with BLUE VELVET. Out-of-towner(s) return(s) to the Heartland, discovering the rot at the heart of the American Dream. But Lynch has hope for renewal. Hooper has none. TCM is post-apocalyptic, but its protagonists don’t realize that the apocalypse has happened. It’s over.
They’ll never get The Texas Chainsaw Massacre right again. Not because they don’t try... because they can’t. The original wasn’t about gore. It was about absolute decay. The heat. Rotting dreams. A world already dead and yet still moving onward.

A pure documentary about the collapse of America.

I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve spent money on a Burzum CD, had a Sargeist backpatch, and paid to see Horna. Not my proudest moments. But we have to take accountability for our past actions, move past them, and help others to do so as well. Thank you for stepping up and speaking out.
