Watching #newsnight . Every time a politician says “frankly” they should be slapped with a wet fish.

The greatest ever episode of Quantum Leap as Dr Sam Beckett finds himself on the halfway line with the ball at his feet.
Yep, why not score a goal from your own half in the 98th minute?

Presume the Labour government will have dentists waiting on the beaches to strip any gold fillings from teeth.
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

Ones with Brendan Gleeson shouting
Films with Gabriel’s Byrne whispering
Films where Daniel day Lewis doesn’t say much
Ones where Marie doyle Kennedy does a bit of signing
Ones where Saoirse Ronan has some unhappy people around her
What are your top 5 movie genres? Mine are:

-"I got it, we'll *pretend* to be married! What could go wrong?"
-Englishmen being weird
-Ship hunted by submarine
-Submarine hunted by ship
-Submarine hunted by other submarine

(The first two can be improved by the addition of a submarine.)
- Films from 1932 in which three chorus girl gold diggers who share a flat try to survive the Depression
- Craggy former gunslinger bleakly confronts his life’s work
- Miscarriage of justice documentary
- Half-arsed ‘80s buddy comedy
- Holly Hunter whispering

The on “company time” expenses story reminds me of the lad who used to get his haircut at 1030 on a wed every 3 weeks, he viewed as his hair grew on company time it should get cut on company time!

#IREvAUS a decent attacking performance against a poor Aussie side, defence pretty wobbly though. Furlong sliding catch on the deck the forwards highlight. Tommy Bowe a decent skin on the sideline, in between media duties, with younger fans.

This reads like a list of clubs it was Robbie Keane’s dream to play for.
I think this was true a few years ago, but less true today. The quality has really improved post-pandemic (Opta Analyst ratings):

Scotland can consider themselves very unfortunate on a number of quite important ref calls in this game, New Zealand poor enough.

Sesko coming on hasn’t been great for the team, arguably hasn’t held the ball up (at fault for the goal) and appears unwilling to shoot with his left foot.

The BBC carrying on with its long held position of having political editors rather than business or economic lead on budget coverage. in about a month they’ll run a piece on Radio 4 on why is nobody focusing on the substance of policy.
