Watching With Love, Meghan. I'm not a Duchess of Sussex stan, but I also think the extreme racism to which she is subjected is awful. This show is a very beige, and I recognize this isn't a real critique. It's perfect to fold laundry to, to grade papers to. It fills my GBBO lane.

Saw Ani Difranco at the Belleweather. She’s still entrancing to see live even when I don’t know any songs post 2002. Sounds great!

Schools are gearing up for ICE raids. These were just delivered to my classroom. How is this only day 4? Why does the GOP hate so many people?

The link in the first comment works not the one in the post. Altadena has a vibrant Black community that needs to be uplifted and supported.
Seeing video’s of families & elders who lost their homes in historic Altadena is heartbreaking. Here is a compiled list of gofundme’s for the displaced Black families of Altadena.

Thinking about John Hughes movies. Maybe the reason GenX is horrible is we were raised on the idea of countercultural outsider cool kid who was willing to give it up to be with a rich kid? The class politics were always meh. Not to mention the racism and misogyny and weird conservatism.

I received an invite to write about AI in Ed with my work wife and two higher ed/writing project work. What would you want to read about as it relates to this topic? There's so much to consider - ethics, case use for planning, supporting writing, addressing cheating.

So sadly true
whatever you feel about this you have to admit it's rare for a radicalized man who's frustrated or angry and ready to choose violence to actually correctly identify the source of their suffering, instead of just blaming and killing women and minorities.....

This feels like more proof of the graft-iness of crypto.
Bitcoin, the most valuable cryptocurrency, surpassed a price of $100,000 per coin Wednesday night, extending a prodigious rally that accelerated after the election of Donald Trump to a second presidential term.
The milestone marks a 42 percent increase since Nov. 5.

So more on Liz Phair. I listened to Exile in Guyville for the first time in at least a decade. It holds up. All those songs that were gutsy and bold when I was 20 make me feel oddly protective of old me and old Phair. All that bravado hiding so much vulnerability.

This book. Whew. Best book of the year for me. It was so contained and precise. So beautiful, but, because of Chapter 10, not something I could teach nor use in our parent-teacher bookclub. Anyone else read it?

Great article. I avoided all stores this week and only ordered online for pick up.
Seems like people wanna talk about all the locked-up stuff at chain pharmacies and big box stores today. Here’s a gift link to a feature I published a few months ago about why retailers started putting so much stuff behind plexiglass and how badly it’s backfired. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Retailers Locked Up Their Products—and Broke Shopping in America
CVS, Target and other chains have barricaded everything from toiletries to cleaning supplies. It’s backfired in almost every way.
