Been wondering what my pinned post should be.

And I keep coming back to this…

I can’t think of a more pertinent quote for the dystopian times we’re living in than the words of MLK Jr from *six decades ago*

It's incredible just how on the ball trans people were about those US think tanks influencing British politics, going to great length to detail all these links and connections, only for it to fall on deaf ears because of how aggressively trans people were frozen out and disenfranchised.
bittersweet seeing parts of the lethargic british press sluggishly get around to wondering if US far-right religious think tanks are working to influence british politics. they are, yes! it is not secret! do your jobs better!
In case y’all want to blanket block the US Trump Administration that’s joined Bluesky in its various guises to troll, poison and extend its tentacles of hate…

Gotta block them all! Block early, block often!

In a coordinated move, multiple federal agencies joined BlueSky yesterday and turned to trolling the opposition. Our Assessment on Democratic Decline warns of this autocratic practice: attacking the free press and narrowing the space in which factual reporting can safely operate without retaliation.

The Scottish Green Party just voted to reject the legitimacy of the EHRC as the British equalities regulator following the decision to override the Equalities Committee to install the new chair Mary-Ann Stephenson.

The Liberal Democrats have won the most by-elections on what they've dubbed ‘Super Thursday’, winning 7 out of the 10 council seats up. The wins came in Surrey but also in Preston, Lancashire, where the party gained from Labour, beating Reform to win it. One ward was in Michael Gove's old seat.

heartbroken to learn the pope sympathizes with the poor. how can i continue to believe in god
And it’s still being used as an official communication platform by far too many organisations who ought to know better.

Including the UK government.

AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

Lest we forget one month ago Angela Rayner resigned over underpaying stamp duty on her £800,000 flat in Hove

Within a week Farage exposed not to own a £885,000 house in #Clacton he claimed he’d bought & accused of avoiding £44,000 in tax by funding his girlfriend to buy it

It got buried quick eh❗️😡
Angela Rayner resigns after underpaying tax on Hove flat - BBC News
Her departure comes after the PM's ethics adviser concludes that she breached ministerial rules.

There is a far shorter, just one word in fact, way to say "anti-antifacist". Seems a few people might have forgotten that.
Rambling, rambling, rambling, rambling bullshit. Decades of peer-reviewed research by experts, furthering the cause of public health, undone by two supremely, dangerously ignorant old men.
Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

The BBC's justification for platforming Farage beyond the actual significance of his small parliamentary party are his polls. A rather cynical explanation, for he wouldn't be where he is without the constant, uncritical appearances he's given on the BBC. It's a (literally) vicious circle.

Here’s an angle for a journalist looking for a fresh take on the White House “Antifa” roundtable — most of the people who participated are employed by or have a direct financial connection to Turning Point USA. I think that’s pretty telling, no?

“You’re banned, you can’t chant that, you’re nicked for holding a sign, you’re kids are poorer, you’re colder, you have to have an ID card and the racists have legitimate concerns in our island of strangers… now vote for us or Farage wins.”

I say this with the bluntness it requires: they will get people murdered if this continues. This is not just populism anymore either: it’s completely unhinged and a deliberate choice that does endanger lives. I am not saying this lightly at all.

Leaving the ECHR is just another "cause" that right-wing lunatics can latch onto.

It's Brexit 2.

And like the original most people backing, it don't understand it, don't really believe in what they
are doing and do not care one jot what havoc it causes.

From 1939-1945 German officers also listened to speeches from civilians about how the laws of war didn’t apply to them. And then they participated in the Holocaust, starved millions of prisoners of war, destroyed villages and cities, and were defeated.
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."
Anyone for some journalistic curiosity and integrity in this god-forsaken Reform-propagandising media landscape?

You can’t buy a house without means. And according to money-laundering legislation, you need to be able to show those means aren’t nefarious.

Let’s have some Rayner-levels of scrutiny.
In 25 days we’ve gone from:

“I bought a house” → to “we bought a house” → to “It’s in my partner’s name, → to I have no financial stake.”

Nige it’s time to come clean. Who bought your house?
Nathan Gill, ex-Reform leader in Wales, guilty of taking Russian bribes. You’d have thought it might’ve generated some journalistic scrutiny of Farage

If the media had been remotely interested in critiquing rather than promoting Farage for the past decade, his political career would have been toast

So, Sunday Times runs with latest poll showing Farage winning if there was an election now. But makes NO mention of Reform’s collusion with Russia. And this is how democracy gets beaten to death in the dark. Voters are not being told the truth. Reform is given the stage but is NEVER held to account.
That’s Genspect - one of 8 anti-trans hate groups getting to give their input into the UK puberty blockers ban.

When will the government and decision-makers in this country stop giving credence and legitimacy to non-experts who *just don’t want trans people to exist*?

Anti-trans hate group Genspect is formally calling for trans people to be repathologized. This is most certainly to set the stage for mandated conversion therapy and potentially forced institutionalization.
