There are a massive amount of lies being peddled about Charlie Kirk, so I compiled a list of worthwhile articles to check out instead. His murder was alarming, but not for the reasons most are talking about mst3katie.substack.com/p/star-wreck...
Photo of Charlie Kirk with very tiny face overlaid with the words:

Star Wrek III: The Search for Kirk
Truth about fascist Charlie Kirk even harder to find than tiny face

Every time I watch Cheers it makes me laugh but god damn do I wish the cast were even remotely Bostonian. Rhea Perlman has a Brooklyn accent for chrissakes!

One curious thing on this site about speaking out against the encroachment of LLMs is that inevitably you get accused of being anti-tech. I don’t hate technology. I’ve used machine learning in my own code before. But I also recognize that oligarchs are so hellbent on pushing this tech for a reason.

Seeing some comments giving Biden and the Dems the benefit of the doubt - from where I'm standing, they chose to only go after the foot soldiers in the Jan 6th attempted coup because they are extremely corrupt. This makes them complicit, so let's not let them off the hook so easily

So many powerful actors - elected officials, gov regulators, the FBI - had every opportunity to stop Trump for decades, but chose not to. I'm tired of liberals (and even some Leftists) giving those powerful people and institutions the benefit of the doubt instead of demanding answers 6/6

The Trump elections were no different. Tbc you can get angry at whoever you want - I'm not trying to tell anyone how to feel. But assigning blame goes beyond that and gets into the realm of taking action, like spending time and energy going after voters instead of those most responsible /5

And the biggest polluters know that in-fighting amongst us commoners is better for their bottom line, which is why they've engaged in a well-funded media campaign to shift the blame onto individuals since the 1950s

The Origins of Anti-Litter Campaigns
I've never known anyone who was objectively pro-litter. Litter's awful. It's disgusting. We're all agreed. But it seems that the...

Do folks who buy gas-guzzling cars bear zero responsibility for climate change? Of course not, but focusing on individual choices distracts from the much bigger responsibility of corps like ExxonMobil, who've pushed well-funded climate change denial for decades /3 www.theguardian.com/environment/...
The forgotten oil ads that told us climate change was nothing
Since the 1980s, fossil fuel firms have run ads touting climate denial messages – many of which they’d now like us to forget. Here’s our visual guide

Since a few people have brought up the responsibility of voters, I want to clarify that I see this issue as analogous to climate change - going after your neighbor for buying a gas-guzzling car is easier than organizing against the handful of companies responsible for 80% of CO2 emissions /1

YES. Also, I’m so tired of people blaming voters instead of the fact that Trump was allowed to be on the 2024 ballot in the first place. He honestly should have been in jail before he could run in 2016!

You can talk (and should) about all the issues with poor white people voting against their own interests without reveling in glee when poor people in general are harmed.

While I haven't read all of these books, they've either been written by journalists I trust or cited by them, so I feel confident in this list. Of course, I'll make any corrections/adjustments if need be

"but it's everywhere now so we just have to accept it's the new reality" motherfucker we can just stop putting it everywhere! we did it with asbestos and CFCs and lead-based paint or petrol and make-up with arsenic in it! if everyone is using something and it's bad, we can choose to stop!

Bizarre to see so many people against this - “but Trump will just take credit” “this won’t solve the underlying problem” man shut the fuck up. If you’re lucky enough not to need $2K right now, then just donate your check and let the rest of us catch a damn break for once
