like, i'm a wolf therian & i bought a muzzle right after i found that out. i started calling my girlfriends "handlers" over the summer. i fucking NAMED MYSELF "HOUND" AND GOT A TAG FOR MY COLLAR WITH THAT NAME and it'd still be more than a WEEK before i would actually read warhound. like. what. how.

of command. i.e. there's the "regular" handlers who deal with pilots, and then there's higher-up handlers who take care of those and teach them, and perhaps there's some Handler Supreme overseeing grand strategy, who reports directly to the throne itself. that's the role i saw thrawn-handler taking.

funnily enough i mused about handlers' positions in any given mechsplo setting a bit last night (specifically thinking "what if thrawn was a handler") and i think it'd be neat if "handler" was kind of its own offshoot, not really something that fits into normal military ranks, with its own chain

Dedra Meero: honestly i think she takes second place here after Cinder Carla. the only time i can see her taking an L is something going horribly, unexpectedly wrong for her, and her facade cracking in front of a hound.

Palpatine: leaning towards yes, but i think she'd drop the facade a little too eagerly if she wasn't personally invested in the hound as an asset of her own power. fortunately, hounds make good iron fists. on account of the big metal mechs.
