This is, to me, one of the strongest pieces of evidence of how the internet and social media is cooking our brains: the way the information firehose makes a lot of people feel that things that were shocking, even a couple of years ago, are now ancient history, a distant era that we’ve moved beyond.

I do feel that Tina Fey- specifically with Mean Girls and 30 Rock- was THE cultural reset. I think it was after these two projects that "women can't be as funny as men" stopped being conventional wisdom (yes, yes in a very American pop culture influences all else kind of way).
