We aren’t one step away from Stephen Miller going in the radio and telling his supporters to kill all the Democrats, but they want you to think that so you’ll be afraid. This is a propaganda exercise to make them seem more powerful than they are and some of you are dangerously susceptible.
If Vance, Miller, and the FOX talking heads got out there and told their viewers to go full Rwanda 1994, they'd do it. They just think they can extort capitulation without going that far - and judging by elite reaction, they're right.

Maybe I’m naive, but this government hasn’t even meaningfully gone after the genuinely unpopular groups they could call domestic terrorists—PSL, In Our Lifetime—I’m not terribly confident they’re going to be successful going after National Organization for Women or whatever

Occurs to me that Trump's entire regime consolidation strategy is to persuade everyone through displays of force that the regime is already consolidated and there's no point in resisting. Which I don't think will work, but also shows how important public acts of noncompliance are.

This is correct. Any candidate cynically “triangulating” on trans kids is a non-starter, and now is the time to say so. There’s still so much time to advance candidates that DON’T suck.
I will never, ever vote for Gavin Newsom. Ever, under any circumstances. I don't care if he becomes the Dem nominee, he's still not getting my vote.
