We are living in a chaotic political time. It will not be calm soon. To allies who want an inclusive, just America: We need you in the months to come, not just now. Be confident in what you know. Remember to take care of your mental health. Take a day off. Breathe. Stretch. Think. Rebuild. Return.
We are bleeding, but they are losing. Thank you to everyone speaking out, acting, supporting fact-based media, and aiding the victims.

The execution of Alex Pretti is playing so badly because you can look at his actions and life story - his last act was helping, boy scout, athlete, health care worker to veterans - and compare those to the men who killed him and know which you would want to be your son, brother, father, uncle.

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

an administration staffed to the top with degenerate liars
Noem lies shamelessly: "An individual approached order Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic gun. The officers attempted to disarm this individual, but the armed suspect reacted violently. This looks like a situation where an individual arrived to inflict maximum damage and kill law enforcement"

Another ICE shooting has occurred. In the military, when preventable deaths occurred, we’d have stand downs.

Department of Homeland Security must immediately withdraw ICE from Minnesota to calm tensions, and IMPOSE A NATIONWIDE STAND DOWN OF ICE to review/change policies, procedures and training.

The easiest way to see how weak Governor Healey’s words are concerning the threat to us posed by Emperor Nero is to compare her words to those of Mayor Wu. #mapoli

There was good positive stuff and accomplishments in it, but Governor Healey's "State of the Commonwealth" speech was kind of boring, and the writing wasn't great. Her words about Emperor Nero vs. Massachusetts were weak and uninspiring. It's like she doesn't get the danger we are all in. #mapoli

Genuinely sad at the passing of John Allen, the word's greatest chronicler and inquisitor of Catholicism. A man of faith yet skepticism, politics yet humanity, pride yet shame - he built an authority that gained the trust of all. He taught me so much. May perpetual light shine upon him.🙏 ✝️ 😔

I always thought MLK’s ‘Mountaintop’ speech was his best, which was given the day before he was killed. It is especially relevant given what is happening now in MN and elsewhere. He was getting many serious threats, which he references in his line “I may not get there with you.”

yes. this is one of the major weaknesses of an administration helmed by an indifferent and doddering old man and run by vicious ideologues. they are totally unresponsive to public conditions. also a sign that they are isolated from those republicans who are worried about elections
the Millers in the administration are operating on the idea that "politics" is actually irrelevant now that they control key levers of power. the show is not about getting people on board, but getting the public to feel a collapse of order. not sure how that gets them to dictatorship though.
