Good morning from DAY FIVE of our national ULP strike!

We're ready to escalate if we don’t see substantial progress toward finalizing contracts that address pay, hours/staffing & the resolution of 100s of ULPs.

Today, I baked 2 loaves of oatmeal-whole wheat-molasses bread; I only use this recipe after we have had our first frost and the house is warm and cozy. You have to encourage the yeast for the two rises-it is a very heavy dough.

🧵1/2 This is not a drill; look at what you have in your kitchen today, or plan to stop at the grocery on the way home. People are getting hungry, and there is not time to wait while some 'compromise' and 'partial arrangements' can be made for SNAP recipients or furloughed or RIFed people.
