Last night I saw an article describing how to clean silverware “without chemicals.” Instead? Baking soda, salt, vinegar, water on a bed of aluminum foil. Made me wonder what the author thinks chemicals are.

It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.

Yep, it's kind of like when Florida insisted on creating as many barriers for young people to use school libraries as possible, it was a teeny tiny fraction of parents who barred their kids from using those libraries.
