Sorry you had to wait 10 months for your cancer surgery – a politician needed to save 10 minutes getting to the airport.
$4 BILLION to save 'up to 10 minutes' during peak traffic. Fucking hell - imagine what that $4B could do for housing, education, health, etc, in Aotearoa.

This is a thousand years worth of Creative NZ government funding
our govt wants to spend 327 times more on a single road ($18b) than they are currently spending yearly on all of basic science in new zealand ($55m) #nzpol
The Northern Expressway we were told would cost $10 billion is now priced at $18 billion, or six times the Cook Strait crossing we were told was unaffordable. This is fantasy stuff. www.nzherald.co.nz/northern-adv...

One of the many evils the tech industry has inflicted on our lives is that when an Act of God forces everyone to stay home from work (wild weather, earthquake, pandemic), we're now expected to Work From Home (rather than have a day off like God intended).

Personally, the main thing I think artists, musicians, writers, etc need sorted is the same thing most other people need sorted: cost of living.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

It breaks my heart that this is both the correct thing to do & a sign of how awful things are right now. @marinaomi.bsky.social built something beautiful that helped make the comics industry (& community) better. Now they're taking it down to keep artists safe. ❤️❤️❤️
