Boards Chair here - before our BOT passed a motion affirming our commitment to Te Tiriti, I received emails from parents and teachers urging the board on.

The union never said a word.

Amazing that reaffirming a commitment to Te Tiriti is viewed as "anti-govt" (his words)

With the American military adopting such pointlessly cruel and antagonistic anti-LGBTQ+ policies it’s good to see some other countries are taking the opposite approach.

In recent years, we’ve seen the celebration of consumerism grow in the form of Black Friday. It has only crept into popular culture here in New Zealand over the past several years. In the US, Black Fr...

This is absolutely amazing. Like. We need to shout from the rooftops and tell vaccine success stories like this. (All vaccines are success stories, but it's not as easy to illustrate how verifiably life saving they are.)
Vaccinating boys and girls. It works bitches.

A person who receives more benefits than they strictly are entitled to will put it straight into the economy.

A millionaire avoiding or evading tax puts it straight into the bank.

The first helps us all.
The second helps one millionaire.

I know which I’d rather see happen.

I would rather 50 people got benefits they didn't need than 1 went without food or shelter.
Hot take maybe but I actually don’t give a shit about benefit fraud.

I give a shit about multimillionaires and billionaires existing and not paying tax on their actual wealth.

On top of everything, this plays *terribly* to National's base. Their politics is rooted in might-is-right, we-have-power-because-we're-better-than-you ideology and they've spent two years insisting that they are incredibly weak

In retrospect I underestimated “Superman.” Whatever issues I have with the flick, it’s a 5/5 when reflecting on the genuine sincerity, joy, and hope it offers. It’s a movie that truly believes in Superman and what he can mean. Gunn isn’t asking us to love a messiah, he’s daring us to be as kind.

I’ve occasionally felt nervous in a rough ferry crossing – but I’ve always thought that, if there was a breakdown or emergency, rescue would, in this day and age, be straightforward. Now it looks like our ferries – as they demonstrably fall apart – are simply not really safe to use.
Gov's recklessness is off the charts, it's like they want a ferry disaster... All reminiscent of Pike River #nzpol

Udo took a chance on my rinky-dink festival in Vancouver back in 2000 - he went on TV interviews with me, carried 35mm film prints up stairs, went to get me coffee and even live-dubbed Giancarlo Giannini's voice when BLACK BELLY OF THE TARANTULA showed up without subs. RIP Udo, you were a star 🌟

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

„Quiet, Piggy!“ Just think about that for a minute, and what it means to live in a time when a President can assault a woman in public like that without any consequences.
It‘s quite a testimony to the age of regression we live in.

And those men - some not so old - still sit at Council tables & got rewarded for that filthy behaviour. #nzpol
Tory Whanau isn’t leaving - she was hounded out
Opinion: As all the emails and filthy gossip came out, it’s been patently, toe-curlingly, nauseatingly obvious to every young woman what’s been happening.

I think it's easier to understand the Trump Era when you realize nobody actually likes Trump, they just like the anarchy and chaos of being free from social norms and basic civility.

Even his supporters hate him, but he normalized being a monster.
