I have to say that as bad as things are it is a significant improvement over the traveling circus where the evil scientists kept me while they were teaching me how to walk on two legs and speak the speech of men

Joseph Campbell said "In a lot of stories, a character will begin in one place, travel to another place, and then return to the first place" and nodded with great erudition as though he'd said something meaningful and ppl are still eating it up today

There is no sight that more efficiently puts the lie to immigration “court” than the common sight of children “representing themselves.” Children too small to climb into the chair, children in pajamas who don’t know where they are, children not yet old enough to speak.

I think a good rule of thumb going forward is that, if you see somebody wearing smart glasses, you should probably beat the living shit out of them. If nothing else, permanently destroy the glasses. I think people should have a mortal fear of leaving their house while wearing them

This fall, Hawaii's supreme court rejected an argument that recording interrogations is burdensome for police: “If children can record everyday events with ease, law enforcement cannot claim hardship to record perhaps its most consequential investigative act.”
Hawaii Supreme Court Expands Rights of Defendants, and Once Again Rebukes SCOTUS
The justices ruled that Hawaii’s constitution requires police to record interrogations. And they vowed to protect due process for Hawaii residents—unlike, they said, the Roberts Court.

Really love how this guy posted this on TikTok thinking the woman who broke his Meta glasses would come off as the villain, as opposed to him, the guy recording her without her consent for social media content via a surveillance device made by one of the worst companies on earth

On one hand, I’d like to not have to talk about gender stuff all the time.

On the other hand, the US, the UK, many other governments, and even more private organizations are taking it upon themselves to make life hell for us with the eventual goal of eliminating us.

So I don’t get that luxury.

People need to boycott this show and not just half ass. Shame everyone who plans on watching it. This isn't about Eurovision, it's about Israel getting away with committing genocide because THERE ARE NEVER ANY CONSEQUENCES. They should be untouchable by now. Everybody needs to walk the fucking walk.
Eurovision has allowed Israel to compete in 2026.

Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, and the Netherlands have pulled out of the competition following the decision.

Not gonna sugar-coat this one: Choosing not to oppose the current order because of its dangerous consequences will mean you're a coward, and being a coward should make you feel ashamed. Simple as. Didn't hold water at Nuremberg and won't hold water here.

I understand that the liberals are acting Like That out of fear and we should try to be sympathetic to that and all that stuff but guys that does not change the fact that ppl who are lashing out and making panicked decisions don't make good decisions

This is insane to me. "We've decided to exclude you but we hope you'll interpret that as a sign that we stand with you"
??????

Based on what????? Why would "the trans community know you stand with them" when you explicitly, loudly, deliberately, fucking DON'T??

You have the choice to sacrifice trans people. Perhaps it will save you.

But you don't get to ask trans people to accept the role as sacrifice. You cannot expect understanding, acceptance, forgiveness, or respect.

You made your choice.

The truth is that there are many good people in good institutions regretfully making the choice to sacrifice trans people because they fear for their own survival and their institution's survival...

...and it is incumbent on us to show them that their choice is not without consequence.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
