IMO every publication and every publisher should have a clear statement about their generative AI policy. To dictate what is acceptable writer usage, yes, but also to declare their own usage (or lack thereof). Do they use it for slushreading, editing, illustration, correspondence?

I hope a Woodworking TV/film adaptation happens, because somewhere out there is an 18-year-old trans girl who should play Abigail, and I want to try to make friends with her, proving I don't understand my own book.

Worth mentioning again and again that crime is near historic lows, and New York City in particular is one of the safest places in the entire country.

ICE’s lawlessness is a far greater threat to public safety than street crime in every one of these places.

Trump: "The ones that are run by radical left Democrats -- what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They're very unsafe places & we're gonna straighten them out one by one. This is gonna be a major part for some people in this room. That's a war too. It's war from within"

I'm definitely thinking about how to show the "importance" of what was chosen. It was all physical things and not emotions, so they could be actually represented in embroidery. Gonna definitely be thinking of that as I continue to tinker with this!

Well, I, for one, am a fan 🤣

I'm going to keep working on this one (well spotted that it is at least partially personal). So the tips are truly so helpful.

And husband, daughter and I are going to the same spot as our first date to play mini golf and arcade games tomorrow 😃

Awesome notes about the threads I left throughout and how to tie them together at the end (ba-dum-tsss). Husband and I really enjoyed listening to it!

I think my only point of contention is on the character agency. Otherwise, can't really argue with any of the constructive points.

Thanks so much!

Yeah, I jad no idea that was apparently a US English thing since neither Amanda nor Ed got it.

So glad someone did though! And your toddler is certainly not alone. Mine got hers from falling to the sidewalk after being chased by a goose.

Thanks so much @akscotland.bsky.social & @quitewriteed.bsky.social for your kind, constructive breakdown of my story! No soju for me tonight, but hubs & I drank wine + listened.

This is a really neat podcast, so please have a listen if you want to learn more about writing flash fiction.

Also, arresting people who hadn’t committed a crime, imprisoning people without due process, and demanding identification for people traveling within the country.

The GOP are just recreating the Andropov-era USSR, complete with feeble Supreme Leader who can barely hold his head upright.

I am old enough to remember when requiring "journalists" to report only state-approved propaganda was how you could tell the Soviet Union were indisputably the bad guys.

All USians live in a dictatorship now. We allowed a fascist regime to take over and freedom is now an illusion.

We're 7 months in and Trump and the oligarchs have completely seized control of the media. If you criticize them, your show will be pulled from the air.

This is what dictators do. Fascism isn't coming, it's here.

in light of the kimmel news, just a reminder that a few days ago a prominent fox news host literally called for killing homeless people. right afterward, someone shot up a couple homeless encampments.

that fox news host still has his job.

Brian Kilmeade endorses euthanizing homeless people: "Involuntary lethal injection, or something. Just kill them."

There is no "antifa" group. The President is making it illegal to criticize him
kyledcheney.bsky.social
Trump says he’s designating “antifa” a terrorist group and launching a probe into finding of antifa activities. The FBI has long said antifa doesn’t really have a centralized structure or leadership.

One thing I'll say about DC not only canceling Red Hood, but recalling the first issue and refunding stores for buying it, is that you can still get Neil Gaiman's work through them. They still work with Otto Schmidt. Eddie Berganza worked there for years AFTER the formation of a policy that no women

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

If you’re rich and not a coward, this is what you’d refer to as a “market opportunity” to dominate a media ecosystem that’s about to be covered in grotesque government slop. To be a pop of color in a sea of beige will be easier than ever. People will flock to it. You gotta be a little brave, though.
