This is literally what happened in Tangled. Surprise miracle revival is a reward for a heroic sacrifice
Excuse me, Hollywood Reporter, but it does nottt "go against his sacrifice" to allow him to live beyond his "redemptive act." The intent, meaning & significance of his actions are STILL fully intact. *HE* didn't know he'd survive it, & that's all that counts. Redemption doesn't have to end in death.
