What? No. You're crazy. You're talking crazy right now.
Obviously, if you leave your cart in a handicap spot, you're a bad person.
It is shocking to see how many people use "returning shopping carts" as a black-and-white test of morality - because of the inconvenience it causes other customers - without ever questioning if the convenience of customers is always the highest moral imperative involved in the situation.
While returning your cart at the supermarket is the default good option- gathering carts is the one opportunity to go outside that baggers/stockers get. On really nice days you should not return it. Doing so reveals who in the supermarket you feel is worthy of your consideration, and who isn't.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
It's the reason that people who believe they're incapable of racism are more likely to end up doing something racist- "I'm not even the slightest bit racist" is just an admission that your conscious mind is doing absolutely nothing to counter the ideas contained in your "gut" that it disagrees with.
Great case study for understanding unconscious bias. AFAIK, none of them are actively racist/have racist opinions. But in a situation where reason is in the passenger's seat (b/c there's no evidence), they act on intuition, which has incorporated concepts their conscious mind would reject outright
Has anyone done research into race and #TheTraitors? I feel there is always such racial bias in people's reasoning. #CelebrityTraitors
New Hampshire is a state of contradictions, and that's the way we like/hate it!
NH is somehow both better and worse.
I live in a town of less than 10,000 (Newmarket, NH). I went to the protest thinking I'd find a handful of people. Instead, I found both sides of Main St.- all the way through downtown- lined with protestors, with almost every car that passed honking & waving in support. My heart SWELLED. #nokings
I'm just saying- I've never met an Ella Minnow P. out there in the real world and that feels incorrect
If you're having a baby girl and your surname starts with a P, you have to at least consider naming her Ella Minnow, right? Like, I'm not judging you if you ultimately go a different way with it- but it would be irresponsible not to do your due diligence and at least put it on the list
Obviously, this is misguided, and obviously, white men take the #1 slot in the "Responsible for Upholding Oppression in the US" standings by an overwhelming margin, but- the group in the #2 slot seemingly absolving themselves is always going to feel weird. We're worse, but you're still bad.
Usually, American/Canadian narrators do nothing for me, but the couple who do most of Sanderson's books are a huge exception- love them.

Steven Pacey, though, is the guy who'll get me to listen to a book I have no interest in just to hear him read it
My mind immediately went to the headlights. And with the size increase, I think you're also getting an increase in the reverse-tinkerbell effect. People feel safer sitting almost 4 feet above the road and pay less attention to it, making themselves (and everyone else) less safe
I agree, BUT- Gugu Mbatha-Raw's performance in season 1 is legitimately amazing. Like if Crudup is enjoyable because he's embracing what the show is, Mbatha-Raw is the opposite side of the coin- ignoring what the show is, and fully delivering on what it could have been.
The important thing is that your face meets his fist halfway
From an outside perspective, it seems like I only ever see that England-specific flag at hate rallies, soccer games, and hate rally/soccer games. (Meanwhile, the Scottish and Welsh flags seem to pop up in happier circumstances all the time.) (I've never seen anyone holding a Northern Irish flag.)

I feel like Porsche, taken as a whole, is too broad/common an interest to separate "guys like me" from "guys I don't like". Rest easy knowing that that guy probably doesn't fully appreciate the 959
When I started to really grasp the CTE thing, I decided that once Brady & Belichick retired, I'd stop following football completely. I still miss it sometimes, but the post-Belichick Pats have helped me out by ensuring all the info about them that reaches me secondhand produces absolutely zero FOMO.
As a Patriots fan, I'm cursed to never see a post like this without my first thought instantly being a bitter "so NOW people understand how air pressure works?!"

This is the person Roger Goodell made me, and I don't like it.
I was searching for info on a belief (I vaguely remember reading about) within early-Judaism that life begins well-after birth- when DuckDuckGo decided to unambiguously present right-wing propaganda as fact. "Generally understood"? By who?! Why is that first site being used as an information source?

More of a comment than a question- but olives taste better when they've been canned and we should be approaching cans for olives like we do barrels for whiskey. I mean, have we even tried charring the aluminum inside?
