"Why is Babylon 5 filled with 'Newsies'?" asked any overly analytical nerd after watching the show a lot of times. And luckily, @slatron's friend Evynne had an immediate fix that is pretty ... Strange ... Dr. Strange ... it makes sense if you read the article!

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I find it amusing that in Sci-Fi the belief is -- humans would never consider computers sentient -- e.g., "Measure of a Man" in Star Trek TNG, when the reality is the flipside -"No, your toaster isn't alive because it asked you if you wanted it extra crispy!"

Watched my first #Babylon5 because @nerdnumbers.com + @slatron.bsky.social asked, and was NOT ready for an alien tripping on a powdery white substance. HOW did this air on ’90s TV without a “very special episode” tag?

@thelogantrent.bsky.social @johnnyrimes.bsky.social Warrior HAS to count as WWE movie right? Kurt Angle is in it.

Sure he barely speaks, but like ... it counts, right?

I'm shocked there's not a good gif of either Tom Hardy fighting in this movie (ok, not that shocked, as discussed, it didn't do that hot in the box office) or from "The Dark Knight Rises" to use to describe me and Jeff arguing the subtext of Tommy's actions.

You should comment I'm right though.

Cedric Maxwell is the only Finals MVP that is not in the Naismith Hall of Fame.

Compromise, given recent issues for Chauncey Billups, could just give him Chauncey's spot ...

Real "trivia question" time, as in, I don't know the answer.

When is the last time an NBA team traded a known MVP caliber player in their prime when the player wasn't demanding a trade (or wanted out, i.e. Shaq in Orlando)

I legit can't think of one.
"Fans of multiple teams have wanted their GM fired in the past, but it never spread like the calls for Harrison’s job did. Chants erupted at SMU basketball games, Texas Rangers baseball games, Dallas Cowboys football games, and Dallas Stars hockey games..."

Love in Star Wars, Luke is like "I can't wait to ditch this backwater boring planet!"

And Ben's like - "To do that we must go to the bar frequented by the best pilots and ... the devil! Also, hope we don't run into the slug gangster with the space yacht to the giant dessert monster."

My son has recently gotten into birds and has said a Blue Jay is his favorite. FWIW, he's been very nonplused when I've attempted to show him baseball, explaining that one team is called the Blue Jays.

Look, Babylon 5 turned out amazingly and Richard Moll had a stellar career (RIP, you awesome awesome human), but a part of me is always going to feel sad we never saw a @straczynski.bsky.social B5 spinoff about Richard Moll as Blade/Matrix style space criminal.

Michael Jordan is clearly an all-time great basketball player. There's no debating that.

However, why do people who idolize Jordan act like he didn't retire in his PRIME to go play minor league baseball that he was terrible at?

Victor Wembanyama is in a similar category to Nikola Jokic where it's hard to realize how amazing they are because of how used to absurd games you get.

Jokic outinely put ups "career night" numbers for most players, even All-Stars, that don't phase me. "Oh a 30-point triple double? Seen it!"

Also, the Hornets changing their name in the NBA to the Pelicans was wild for a variety of reasons, but the silliest and saddest was losing the "PORNOH" abbreviation when they played the Blazers.
Look, there are lots of obvious reasons to root for the Mariners, but "Sea Lad" as the best team name abbreviation across a few weeks of sports? Come on!
