To be effective, hepatitis B vaccines need to be given within hours of birth, so it's given withint 12-24 hours currently. But babies need a total of three doses. Organizing that kind of mass vaccination program is not easy or cheap. Very hard to do in countries without a lot of funds. #ACIP
Thanks. Your point about some countries not having vax resources is so important and was certainly misrepresented today. I now recall reading about western Alaska.

American Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is meeting later this week to - likely - ignore science and take away the Hepatitis B vaccine given at birth.

(btw, parents can already refuse vaccines. So why block it from families who want protection?)

I have been wrongly supporting Senator Mark Kelly.
He is constantly voting for trump judges. What’s up with him?

Here’s a good new follow.
11 Senate Democrats just voted to advance the nomination of a Federal Society judge who used to defend banks and payday lenders:

Absolutely. Good writing and clear thinking amplify one another.

Unfortunately, the same is true of bad writing and muddled thinking.
i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.
Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

No, seriously. It's just beans.

But I think so many people have been conditioned to consume rage bait images that they don't understand how much they've been manipulated to behave a certain way.

I think people can't even tell between rage bait and normal now.

Pay attention at #NIH to peer review of grant applications.

I don't think it's too much to say the keystone of US biomedical science is NIH's Center for Scientific Review.

CSR organizes peer review—relying on 25k US scientists. Review helps isolate grantmaking from political interference.

I just finished re-reading “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. It was profoundly different from reading it in 9th grade, where almost every message and nuance sailed right over my head.

What an amazing novel, especially for now.
You might appreciate it too.

This must be so difficult for Zelenskyy given all that Ukraine is going through. Betrayal hurts.
No person has been closer to Volodymyr Zelenskyy since the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine than Andriy Yermak — and no absence may matter more.

Don’t forget that *Trump’s own lawyer’s argument* to the Supreme Court in the immunity case was that the check on the President using his immunity to order criminal acts was that those under him would not follow illegal orders. Now it’s a crime for lawmakers to remind servicemembers of that?
The President doesn't want you standing up and speaking out against him, so he's coming after me to intimidate all of us.

But I won't back down — and neither should you.
