A prayer for the next Archbishop of Canterbury. 🙏
Almighty and everlasting God,
the only worker of great marvels,
send down upon your servant Sarah,
called to be Archbishop of Canterbury,
and all who are committed to her care,
the spirit of your saving grace,
and that they may truly please you,
pour upon them the continual dew of your blessing.
Grant this, O Lord,
for the honour of our advocate and mediator,
Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Spirituality. Creativity. Disability.

“All people are made in God’s image. You don’t have to be white, male, strong or able-bodied to be complete. God made everyone with love and purpose.”

My brilliant friend Rachel has an exhibition of prints in Newcastle Cathedral and online: www.wobblygoose.com. Rachel's perspectives on disability theology have informed a lot of what I know -- and try to practise -- about disability justice.

Gotta love a conference where you get a plant to bring home (as well as some thought-provoking reflections and connections. A very interesting Moral Injury Conference at @newcastlecathedral.bsky.social today.
Text explaining that the strawberry plants are part of the "If I Told You, What Would You Do?" project, with a QR code for further information. Two small strawberry plants in a veg patch.

Yesterday, we welcomed a moving service for #VEDay80, honouring the city’s connections with Denmark. During WWII, Newcastle became the 'official home town' for Danish merchant sailors. Tragically, 2,000 of the 6,000 sailors did not survive the war. newcastlecathedral.org.uk/the-danish-connection/
