Went with friends to Mosca’s for dinner and Google Maps played a joke on us by sending us home right through the heart of post-Endymion traffic.

It’s a crime that this video only has 1200 likes onTikTok.

One of my fav little bits about Mardi Gras is that I was walking away from the parades last night & saw two people getting bikes who looked familiar, and it was my friends Rachel and Brad. Then I turned around and saw a group of adults wearing rubber duck onesies, and one of them was my friend Roger

I’m putting a lot of faith in my ability to hot glue 88 pieces of grass onto a costume in one short Lundi Gras day.

Note to self to take off the Thursday and Friday before Mardi Gras next year. I’ve lived here for 14 years. How am I just figuring this out?

This might be my favorite throw ever. Pardon the shaky video. I was so excited to plug it in!

We’re at Camp and Napoleon and seem to have hit a major gap in Muses.

Today I wrote about the racist accommodation to the racist response to Bad Bunny's Super Bowl show; the moral hazard of extending good faith to those who act in bad faith; and how alienating white bigots is actually part of the solution, not a part of the problem. www.the-reframe.com/hating-the-g...

I’ve got the height, but 30-40 pounds is a lot to carry around on Fat Tuesday. 🤔

Do You Have What It Takes to Be Bad Bunny’s Sugarcane Bush?
You say, “Touch grass.” We raise you one better and say, “Become Bad Bunny grass.”

I need to read the translations because my Spanish is sadly lacking, but the Bad Bunny halftime show was visually stunning and the whole quality of the production from the dancers to the sets to the camera work to the people in the production truck was insane. 100/10

I love that the onside kick that the @neworleanssaints.bsky.social pulled off to start the second half of the Super Bowl was so legendary, the NFL had to change the rules, and it’s still talked about today.

It’s half time, and that means it’s time for one of America’s most enduring and beloved traditions: mediocre white people being unproductively furious at having to notice brown people

I know there’s a lot of discourse about ground beads, but friends and I just rescued a bunch before the street cleaners came and gave them to a friend who’s collecting for her Iris ride next weekend. Could there be a krewe of scavengers following the last float?

Don’t want to get my hopes up because there was an earlier start and stop, but Carrollton appears to be rolling now.
February 8, 2026 at 7:44 PM
If the parades keep up at the pace of Carrollton so far, King Arthur might finish before midnight. What’s causing the delay?

An even prettier Sunday for parading! We’re hanging out at/around Henry’s Uptown Bar today.

Got a pause here in Freret - word is they’re stopped to let floats from Sparta get up to Tchoup & Jefferson. Only in New Orleans kinda thing.

I might just order some of those Mardi Gras boots with the taps and tassels on them, and then I’ll be insufferable out here tap dancing at these parades.

An absolutely beautiful Saturday for watching parades and hanging out on the neutral ground.

A fun first night of parades! The bars and restaurants on magazine seem kind of empty though. I hope their business picks up this weekend.

Happy to report that though the Brothers 3 renovated the women’s bathroom, the addition of a level floor hasn’t made them too fancy for us regular folk.
