This is exactly what we’ve been saying for months and have the evidence to back it up. Unlike the government who have zero evidence or justification for their approach. They are basically destroying what’s left of our wildlife to line the pockets of the big housing companies.
This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

If you're out doing your @webs-gsmp.bsky.social counts this weekend, remember to record & report any dead or sick birds you find (info in the link). Bird flu cases are rising.

We have lots of unallocated Heathland Bird Survey squares in South Shropshire.

For us this is just a Nightjar survey, requiring two after sunset visits before 15 July.

For more information on the survey visit the link or send us a DM 🙂

Did it about a week ago and it was difficult then. I am told the reserve has been down graded by the #RSPB which is regrettable because for many, places like Radipole are a gateway to birding and nature in general. #Dorsetbirdclub. Told some locals in discussion with council about it.

As always, this year’s Waterbirds in the UK report would not be possible without the dedication from 3,947 volunteers, making 44,539 count visits during winter 2023/24. Thank you!

We’re not alone. We & the @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social are united in calling for Part 3 to be scrapped.

The choice is yours.

And it will be remembered by the millions of us who care about the natural world.

Last year the EU challenged the UK's closure of industrial sandeel fishing in its waters.

These closures are a lifeline for the millions of seabirds which rely on sandeels for food.

Reversing them would be a blow for hungry Puffins, Kittiwakes, and other birds.
