I seem to have a curse. I piss off boomer age women by existing. Like they love using my head as a verbal punching bag for their own rage.

10 more days of hearing clangy noxious smoopy holiday songs. This year its that nasally yelly feliz navidad that somehow is 100 decibels higher than a jet engine at takeoff.

oh lards save us from the “you weren’t exactly exact in your exactness in fact” internet pedant.

Why does everyone think NL has some magical flatness? we still have gravity ffs.

what a tedious little shit.

What ticked me off is that im one of the top “ producers “ in the temp team and manager hinted at longer term work, but then, everyone else got 5-6 shifts a week. I got 3.

I trained in 2 departments. I was only hired for one. I did everything above and beyond and got astoundingly fucked over.

I seriously loathe christmas. Last year was one of the worst job interviews ive ever had. This year a back injury, a temp job fucking me over, and i am not depressed, im tired and angry.

I got scolded at work for… not closing a self closing door. The utter fuck?

If i have to hear feliz navidad one more godforsaken time i will scream till my lungs burst.

Things i learned: unless one is biking at a level for cardio training for olympic level events, it doesnt count. And only the Netherlands is flat enough.

Tho, how much exercise do car drivers get whilst driving? Or is it just that cycling for transport is obligated to this metric?

seriously, hamburgers do your job already.

the day this rancid cheesestick expires will be a delightful day indeed.
Trump: "Ilhan Omar, whatever the hell her name is. With her little turban. I love her. She comes in, does nothing but bitch ... we ought to get her the hell out ... she's here illegally."

The crowd in Pennsylvania then starts chanting "send her back!"

this. I don’t WANT a car. I don’t want to drive. I like public transit, walking and biking. I would just like drivers to understand that and understand the need for protective laws for non driving. I don’t want to die for their need for “gofast”
“We can’t all be expected to bike.”

Fair. But that’s not the point.

“Not everyone can or wants to bike. But some people can & do—and they deserve a safe, efficient, affordable way to move through the city. It’s about freedom of choice.”

This & other useful comebacks, in @momentummag.bsky.social.
Your Comeback Guide to all the Anti-Cycling Arguments You’ll Hear This Year
Anti-bike arguments aren’t just frustrating—they’re outdated, inaccurate, and often repeated without a shred of evidence.

Doddering grandpa fashypants just wants allll the participation medals.

can we just distract him with endless faux award ceremonies and get on with the adults willing to be rational leaders? Give whatisisname his own couch, distract all them one by one?

There’s also been uproar here over a construction company’s demand to close a major bike underpass that over 5k use a day and connects the city east west. they want to close it for 3 yrs.

Uh. no. Hopefully there’s a lot of pushback. 3 yrs is fucking stupid to close a major access point.

Anyway. This week decided I needed a new watch strap. Do i go buy one? no.

At least the objectionable dude now is “but housing shortage and volatile politics, what about THAT”

We’re talking reducing cars you’re talking other issues. All could be solved but bike lanes in ams doesn’t actually cause housing shortages.

at least he’s not “But FLAT AS A PANCAKE”
Remember this picture, & others like it, every time you hear someone in your city say "we're not Amsterdam."

This was #Amsterdam in the 1970s.

Many of the cities we admire made better choices regarding cars in the past. and are still making better choices today.

Better choices instead of excuses.

The party that practically shat itself in fear and instituted near stripdown searches post 9/11 is ok letting the free market decide if that container of food is “eh, close enough to safe.”

Triangle Shirtwaist fire redo, anyone?
Republicans plan to challenge stop sign and building fire alarm mandates, declaring that these issues should be addressed by the free market

I find myself working at a company now that aligns with my experience and skills, but because there’s no official “masters degree” in the skills I have, but experience and patchwork higher education, I can’t see how I’d maneuvre my resume into a long term with this company either.

Why do so many erotica novels seemingly centre around the woman held captive by either paranormal dudes, rich powerful loners, criminals, cults or some flavor of the above? Like must it be some kind of forced thing? Did i miss a memo?
