In the moment I was kind of freaked out by the intensity of the trailer but yes, in the long run, as so many of you pointed out, the seed has been planted for some future genre fans :-)
There were A LOT of families at today's The Princess Bride screening and I totally forgot I programmed this trailer to kick things off, I felt horrible for the little kids present
