In a foolhardy attempt to appease my bank manager, I suppose I should mention that I have some books which may – or may not – make suitable presents for Christmas.

They should be available through your local bookshop - and the online ones. Here are what a few of them look like …

Reasons to go to the public library:

1. It’s cheaper than buying a book

2. You may be vaguely curious about a book but not desperately needing it

3. You may see another book by the same author

4. You arrogantly challenged your rival to a music duel but you don’t have a violin

5. Check email

Homes are the foundations of our lives. Evictions shatter those foundations.

Last night the Renters' Rights Act became law, paving the way for the end of S21 evictions.

The Government must bring in the changes ASAP to prevent more renters like Christina experiencing this turmoil.

The Renters’ Rights Act is NOW LAW!

Soon S21 evictions, which have forced millions of people out of their homes for no reason & with just 2 months notice, will be a thing of the past.

This is what our movement can achieve when we stand together.

Barker called me up one night and without preamble said "It's opinions, not onions. Not onions. This is Clive Barker. I've been trying to track down and stop this error in editions for decades. OPINIONS."
(It wasn't until Jeff and Ann VanderMeer were working on their anthology The Weird that I learned that "onions" is a typo. Either Jeff or Ann mentioned to me that Barker asked them to fix the typo that had haunted the story in countless reprintings, incl in their own earlier antho The New Weird.)

Although the number of areas not reporting has gone up this week, we adjust for that on the map's total, so we can be sure it's a real drop.
