Watching the "Making Of" about Frankenstein 2025 has got me feeling so much "I am inspired to make by seeing how much care and attention went into making this movie."
And I dont know where to put all that energy.

I wish I could figure out how to create a Frankenstein 2025 Elizabeth inspired wardrobe, that blends the Gothic 1850s vibes with some practicalities of 21st century daily wear.
Time to hit the sketch book, I guess?

Did you know Virigina is at her prettiest in the fall when she's has just elected her first woman as governor and turned the state leadership blue again?

Also hi, good morning. How are we all doing today?
I think today is a good day to have a lil treat.

Okay but now that we've just had a huge showing of exactly what people want... I hope Congressional Dems lock the fuck in and start pushing hard on the shutdown. I don't expect the Republicans to roll over, but there's no reason to tiptoe any more. Failing to use this momentum would be idiotic.

Election nights are too stressful. I wish we could just instantly know election results when the polls close.

I can't believe I have to wait for election results and DON'T have a delicious basket of beignets to soothe my soul. I can't go on under these conditions.

Still 20 min to get in line and stay in line at your polling place!!!
Polls are open for two more hours, voting isn't over, make sure you vote!

Been sick with some upper respiratory crud, have no voice, and no energy, but my brain keeps clearing my fatigue and fog juuuust long enough to make me either feel guilty for taking off work or make me daydream about someday being brave enough to cosplay. Brains are so weird.

folks can complain about the effectiveness of scheduled orderly mass protest but to think about it another way its the closest thing we have to the opening scene of A Muppet Christmas Carol where all the muppets sing "there goes Mr. Dipshit, there goes Mr. Ass" to Scrooge and it clearly bothered him

Unpopular opinion from a librarian,, but I love a tatty paperback- shows it’s been loved and read. I read in the bath too. #SorryNotSorry
Breaking the spine of a book is psychopath behaviour. It doesn't even take much care to read without doing so, you have to go out of your way to be that clumsy and destructive.

#OTD 19 September 1991, walkers in the high Ötztal alps on the Italian border, found a body melting out of the ice. It turned out to be the remains of a c.5200 year old man preserved with all his kit.
Of course, it was essential to replicate him in Playmobil.

Being a historian who gets to study women in trades can be rewarding, especially as a way to understand "how did we get here?"
But it's also a lot of me grinding my teeth as I read about how women have been pared down, erased, ignored because some men can't bear to have women compete with them.

When we get new books in the library at work, we have a system to request to be the first to check it out.
I may have screamed a little on the inside when I saw this and my name is indeed the first to request to read.

I am so grateful to finally have a craft room where I can lay out fabric and cut out patterns on the floor without having to contort myself around furniture.
I'm also more in love with this fabric than ever. This is going to be a wrap dress with a lovely full skirt.
