As a kid, I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory so many times, the copy I had fell apart. It’s why I don’t care for the Gene Wilder film. The Burton version is close to the book

Completely missed it, but yesterday was the 20th anniversary of me becoming a US citizen. It wasn’t like a celebratory thing or anything like that. I grew up here. It will 40 years here next year. And things have changed so much.
