Black Elk was a Lakota chief who fought along side Crazy Horse. This is his story. Indigenous stories should be read all year, but especially today #booksky

Today I am grateful for the community I have built this year. We are not fighting alone and there is so much good in the world. We will get a better society.

The Secret History of the Rape Kit a True Crime Story by Pagan Kennedy is a must read. It is short but important reminder of how far we still have to go in helping survivors of sa #booksky #bookrec #nonfiction

And who am I going to debrief with? I am a yapper.
we should reject waymo on the basis of supporting labor in minnesota, where uber and lyft drivers fought to score a statewide minimum wage! and don't forget that lyft contributed $10,000 to all of mpls this year to reelect mayor frey and get a city council allied with him. they are making moves
This, 1,000x this. I've been harping about Waymo being anti-worker and yet another way to funnel money upwards to the elite/oligarchs, and people react like I'm nuts. (It's also why I never use self-checkouts.)

Reminder, it is not normal to call for the execution of your political rivals. Stop normalizing it. It got our leaders killed. Every single leader must condemn this rhetoric. It leads to death. This is not an overreaction.

I am home and safe. But let me be clear, I will be back out. I am in the right to stand up for my neighbors. I am no better for being a citizen. I am simply privileged. Thanks for all those who checked on me.

More to say later, I got pepper sprayed. Andrew got run over. We tried to protect our neighbors.

Me to my dad: what I want for Christmas and my birthday is for you to make my student loan payment. Oh and you and mom are not getting Christmas gifts this year. Sorry I am poor.
Dad: that’s okay. One day you won’t be poor.

198 books read so far. I think I may land around 220-230 books for the year. I can’t explain the joy I get when I read. Books make me giddy. I love to learn and get lost between the pages. I am not bored. I am not lost. The books are taking me to all the places #booksky #reader #wellread

Book 2 of reading Sunday!! I enjoyed this bc Jackie reimagined the role of First Lady. She made the White House the people’s house & used her strengths to help her husband’s agenda. Give this a read #booksky #nonfiction #history
