One of these days, we'll look back and see that AI LLMs and similar tools were the full realization of a sentiment born in the days of AOL, grown into something misshapen and humanity-devouring:

That art, creativity and storytelling are farce.

Untrue, of course.

This is a level of insight and analysis I haven't found elsewhere.

Think the latest gadgets from Valve (gaming company) are just neat? THEY'RE SO MUCH MORE.

They're a (good version of a) trojan horse, for Linux, open source, & weakening the walls of closed digital platforms. Apple & MS beware!

We need to stop falling for this shit.

"A world of material abundance" is not what we're building. And displacing entire categories of jobs would not be the way to get there. Stupid.

My reporter-brain wants launching a newsroom to be simple and keeps yelling "omg just start posting stories aaa!!"

But it is, in fact, not that simple. There's infrastructure to set up, logistics to manage. And some fun stuff too :)

Suicidal for centrists to be begging for moderation when now would be a great time to pass some big, ambitious policies and remind people why Democrats are better than Republicans.

To me, Prop 50's "cynicism" is so very much NOT the issue.

It's that this is just one tactical political move, when Trump's despotism merits a sustained campaign, hitting his side again and again. THAT'S what we need to see. www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/edit...
Endorsement on California Prop 50: Do the ends justify the means?
“The Republican-controlled Congress has made plain that it intends to enable Trump’s despotic excesses. California can’t afford to stand by and watch,” the Chronicle editorial board writes.
