yes. Everything from Copyright Term extension Act in the 90s to Pharma's creative interpretation of 'novel' to extend patents is up for reform

rather than abandonment I would complement patents w/ other means inc prizes, procurement etc. to drive innovation

I once invested in a company that grew from £30m valuation to £600m in 5 years.

It collapsed b/c there was no real business. Essentially the same £1 was circulating amongst a group of related (offshore companies) to inflate metrics

‘Emulate UAE’ means, I think, the ability of the native population to not have to integrate w/ immigrants whilst extracting their labour; not giving them a voice & indeed forgoing one’s own rights to democratic norms in return for those same low taxes
