Due to my move and my family being hit like a meteor with grief I’m taking the week off. This week was already going to be extremely challenging and losing the woman who really was the pillar of this family is devastating. I have a responsibility to put my partner above all else as he grieves

Infection control measures — masks, ventilation, testing, and staff/patient protections — should be standard care in every healthcare setting.

Two days before our interstate move my partner’s grandmother, who has been in hospice since April, passed away. We got to the hospice center just in time, he told her she was allowed to go, and within seconds she did. We so glad we got to be here, and so sad at the same time. Send good vibes or pets

The thing about being impulsive is that once you admit it you can either ignore it entirely and continue to be a chaos gremlin, or recognize it and when a reaction hits just be like wait, let’s take a breath and think for a second. I’m still learning, but I’ve gotten better at it. That’s cool.

My first thought was “wow I hope this guy didn’t give out his name because he could absolutely be charged” and yup, he is correct to stay anonymous.

This man’s account is shocking. His neighbors’ situation is shocking. The entire Chicago raid is shocking.

On the other side was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for his help.
"I wasn't planning on letting her stay, but I didn't know what the hell was going on," the man said of his Venezuelan migrant neighbors. But he quickly relented. The little girl was inconsolable and hid under his bed.
"I didn't want them to take her," said the man, who didn't want to be named because he fears he'll be targeted by federal authorities for his actions.
"I gave her my bedroom, and I just told her,
'Just stay there. Don't open, don't, shh, just stay quiet," he recalled telling the mom and daughter as he choked back tears.

Shockingly, they can’t survive off the “thank you for your service” folks give them walking by at WalMart. Is this what supporting our troops looks like? The gap between idolizing the military and how military personnel are actually treated has always been real gross to me. Long before this.
