I’m actually terrified to do this, but here goes.

One request. You do not comment until you read the entire thread. And you are respectful when you do. If not I will either restrict you or block you depending on how hateful you are.

Great, glad we’re on the same page, let’s begin.

'In the winter garden' - my favourite geometric garden aerial that I've ever done! I don't remember if I shared it here or not yet - it has camellia bushes in the centre and beds of winter heather and hellebore :) the geometric landscapes are always more challenging and I love that! #embroidery

These won a Peas Prize for medical/humanitarian services in the cause of swelling reduction following dental extraction

There will be a ceremony later this week when they will be defrosted and offered to the ducks & swans on the river
(Bet they will glide off, affronted despite experts encouraging)

If you are shopping for loved ones this weekend, please consider adding a present for mothers and children who will spend Christmas in a refuge. @refugecharity.bsky.social Thank you.

1. Some good news at last. This week’s column is about the amazing thing a couple of us stumbled into three years ago, which we’ve now developed into a global research programme. It doesn’t change everything, of course, but it could help change quite a lot. + 🧵 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

I knew that a revolution in our understanding of soil could change the world. Then came a eureka moment – and the birth of the Earth Rover Program, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of blue, I fear no evil, for orange is with me
His hiss and his slorp, they comfort me
He prepares a hairball before me in the presence of guests

Good news!

Earlier this year I shared reports that the land around the Cerne Abbas Giant was up for sale

I’m delighted that, after lots of conversations, the land has now been bought by the National Trust (who already own the Giant): www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

It’s that time of year again. Advent and waiting for the light to return. So I thought I’d post an image of my work a day until the solstice. Here’s The Green Knight, a panel I made in 2022 but it’s a subject that has entranced since I first studied the poem at Stirling University in the 1980s.

What a speech! I wish someone in the UK would do similar on Boris Johnson and/or Nigel Farage, particularly focusing on what Farage was actually doing on Brexit night (there will be some who know, and records that could be called in by an inquiry.)
