Rant. One of my pet peeves is the way people have gotten so much worse about their dogs since 2020. And one of my chief complaints is the increase in people who seem to think their dog is ok off leash and their dog is for sure not ok off leash

I think we’re in an AI bubble but I dont think it will be *allowed* to pop bc of investments in data centers. Similar to comm real estate. After 2020 it became clear in person work simply wasn’t necessary for most white collar work (bad, actually?) but c-suites would rather push RTO than cut losses

I was interested in playing Fallout 4 bc I’d never played a Fallout game. Reviews talked about how broken it was. Then steam showed me a review from one of my friends from TEN YEARS AGO saying the game was broken but he was confident Bethesda would fix it

I wonder if there would be a market for data centers that are 100% powered by solar/wind, and cooled by a closed system capturing excess heat to convert back into useful energy. Small turbines with steam capture/recycling. I don’t know *how* this works, it just seems like a solvable problem

I had a friend in grad school whose idea of a fun weekend activity was to redo the homework and see if he could get it to run on his gpu. Lately I’ve been wondering if that guy became extremely rich. I imagine he would have accidentally invented LLMs in his spare time or something.

New pc is alive and kicking! unfortunately Helldivers runs like dog shit for reasons that are not specific to my computer, which is v frustrating. It also still has a handful of odd problems that I’m still troubleshooting. But overall, I am happy with progress

I played What Remains of Edith Finch this weekend, and it was fine. Good, but way way way overhyped.
Too many stories didn’t have a conclusion. It’s good to leave some mystery and unanswered questions, but to me the frequency of that made the whole feel unfinished.

I have a video game hot take.
I played What Remains of Edith Finch this weekend, and it was fine. Good, but way way way overhyped.

I played The Drifter last week and holy shit what a great game. The story is phenomenal, perfect scifi/horror, technobabble doesnt get in the way. I normally dont like point and clicks but I took a gamble here and it paid off. Art, music, VO are all superb

isn’t every video game NSFW, literally not safe for work?
If payment processors are not processing NSFW material then they shouldn’t be processing games at all. So what exactly is their standard, I wonder?
