if you are food insecure for both the humans and pets in your household there is a tool called Pet Help Finder that can help locate pet food banks nearby and other free or reduced price assistance and supplies for pets.
no one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE, should have to give up their pet bc of this.

Science does not know borders and good science cannot happen in isolation. The only way we will find truth and improve patient care is to collaborate. This is just one example of an amazing international collaboration to sort through the mountains of genetic data we have in VWD. #isth2025

It has been 40 years since the cloning of the VWF gene was published. Very fitting that the ISTH SSC is focusing this year’s talks on the role of genetics in VWD. Names of so many giants in VWD science who mentored all of us who continue the scientific and clinical work today. #isth2025

Maybe Lasix will push more creatinine out and fix the problem. Also, it’ll get rid of the extra fluid and concentrate the hemoglobin! Problem fixed! 😏

Frequently, systems-based hematology focuses on reducing overuse, but there are many interventions that are under utilized! This is a great review from Dr. Jacob Cogan, my former mentee, and a great team, including @heme-fan.bsky.social and @gbarnesmd.bsky.social

New review discusses underutilization of effective agents for hematologic care.

The team, including @heme-fan.bsky.social and @gbarnesmd.bsky.social recommend addressing this knowledge gap with better patient education resources!
