I hate that we've decided that if there's something we don't want to understand, it's fine to use generative AI, but it's not. Technical work like editor and VFX artists cannot be ethically replaced just as much as creatives cannot be. Why? Because this stuff IS creative.

I was kinda annoyed at the latest kurzgesagt video because they're basically like. "AI is bad, here is many reasons why." Then were like. "We will continue to use it for things like tasks in our editor" and I'm just hearing. "We don't value people who learn to do VFX scripting at all."

This is imo the only way to be. I don't imagine how AI could help my workflow because it is disgusting plagiarism and anyone considering it for even the tiniest use is a plagiarist.

As it keeps coming up: I have a few open source projects I've wanted to work on, but they all had bad docs, and the answer was always: Join our discord, you can talk to the other devs!

And the answer is no. You should write good docs, you should not hide them on an unsearchable discord.

Airports are engineered to destroy all joy you may feel towards the idea of being at 35,000 feet at mach 0.85.

It takes a lot to make that uncool so they have to put a lot of horrors into the airport to compensate.

If however, I was taking a pill that kept my heart beating for example. That increases the risk level SIGNIFICANTLY, and even that tiny risk becomes a huge issue that you should take seriously.

Also activated charcoal works by absorbing stuff, it won't affect injectables, patches, gels, or sublingual pills. Just swallowed pills.

My favourite category of science communication tbh. Things that are without a doubt true.

But also don't take into account the calculus of risk. If it's just HRT you're worried about, eating a single piece of sweets dyed with charcoal is extremely low risk. If it's tasty, go to er.

That being said: The charcoal dyed thing has to have used ACTIVATED charcoal, and the charcoal will have had to not have absorbed stuff to saturation while being cooked. So it's probably pretty low risk anyways.

As I see it every year around this time: Yes. Activated charcoal can absorb drugs in your stomach.

If you take any lifesaving pills, you probably should keep that in mind. Having some of your HRT absorbed for one single day however, you probably won't notice literally at all.
