He is promising, on camera, to break his oath to the Constitution by illegally and unconstitutionally usurping the exclusive authority of Congress. Sprinkle in a little 'blowing up the Union' to boot

So, Congress holds DOJ/Bondi in contempt and then what happens? Nothing.

Totally get why Bari Weiss spiked it: It is very unflattering to Trump administration, full-stop. There is no ambiguity about Weiss' and David Ellison's motive here in regard to this story:

1. Keep Trump happy so Paramount can buy Warner Brothers (and subsequently ruin/kill CNN, just like CBS).

Death By Lightning was very good and pretty accurate historically. Recommended.

It was a bit eerie, though, as I see some parallels between the insanity of Guiteau and the inability to see reality in a lot of people today, especially in science and politics. Guess the crazies are just ever-present.
Having abandoned Pluribus, I'm now watching Death By Lightning. So far, it's very good.

The first answer: "In this country those honors are conferred by consensus after a person's death."

The second: "I'm not particularly worried about anyone who thinks a man who spiritually and financially bankrupted us is worthy of his name on a building."
I doubt that any Democrat in the '28 mix would leave Trump's name on buildings. Questions are how they talk about taking it off, and what they say when reporters ask some version of "but wouldn't that further divide the country?"
There's a series of things (like the ballroom, Gulf of America) that we're going to have to *undo* the moment this guy is out of office.
And yet I can already hear future Democrat presidents saying "I'm focused on the people's work, not the knucklehead stuff" and just leave this man's shit up.

Three years and one month from today, I’m going to grab a pickax and pull those letters off that building, but I’m going to need help holding the ladder. Are you in? Applying for my carpenter’s card today, so it’ll be a union job!!!

From your lips to God's ears, but I think those people who support Trump are not going to just go back to being the fringe of the Republican party. They ARE the Republican party.
Few cults survive the passing of their leaders, and MAGA will not outlive the departure of Donald Trump from the White House or from this earth, whichever comes first...

Bingo. The 'resist tyranny' fanatics have no idea what will happen to them once they get the government they seem to want.
The Sydney shooting looks like it will result in stricter gun control, as it should.

These are tools designed for the sole purpose of death. The fantasy that a privately owned rifle constitutes resistance to a modern state monopoly on violence is ahistorical, unserious, and politically illiterate.

I am convinced America crossed an event horizon thirteen years ago, when even the deaths of elementary school aged children at the hands of a monster weren't enough for their government to say "enough is enough". Hard not to think that Americans would rather have their guns over their children.

An interesting take, but I think it's no better than 50-50. I lean towards SCOTUS upholding tariffs, as their immunity ruling allows Trump able to pretty much do anything.
The more nakedly partisan the court majority acts, the more I think they'll strike down the tariffs because I think it would be a net benefit to Republican electoral prospects.
