The more humanoid the alien, the easier the job because everyone has innate knowledge of the subtleties of human nonverbal expression.
With nonhuman creatures though, this can lead to misinterpretations. Take chimps, for example. They seem to smile when afraid and yawn when feeling aggressive. 2/4
